THE Federation of Small Businesses has formed a networking group which meets in... the great outdoors of Saddleworth.
The group’s debut Networking in Nature walk was a Sunday ramble from Uppermill to Diggle and back.
The FSB’s Manchester and North Cheshire committee organised the event and invited members, families and friends.
The business support organisation says it decided to put on the event for business people who are fed up with traditional types of networking events, or those who just love the great outdoors and aren’t afraid to try something a bit different. The group stopped at the Diggle Hotel for lunch and refreshments.
FSB regional chairman Simon Edmondson said: “This event provided our members with a chance to network in a more relaxed, informal setting and was a fantastic alternative to some of the more routine networking events out there — the weather was also on our side. The beautiful Saddleworth countryside has proved to be a tempting alternative.
The walk was hosted by Peter Davys, who was brought up in Chadderton and owns Orrest Ltd, a Whitefield-based firm specialising in sustainable manufacturing and packaging, and business consultancy services.
