A MANUFACTURER and supplier of windows, doors and conservatories is celebrating 30 years of business.
Gemini uPVC, based at Westwood Industrial Estate in Oldham, began trading in 1985 and supplies trade customers across the region.
Established in 1985 by Robert Griffiths, it is now led by his son, managing director Paul Griffiths.
The firm has a close link with uPVC profiles manufacturer VEKA, which has a major UK production plant in Burnley.
Paul Griffiths said: “A lot has changed in the industry over the past 30 years and there have been ups and downs for many firms in our sector. Many competitors have faltered but we boast a strong, long-standing relationship with the VEKA UK Group, which has industry-leading installer support programmes.
“It helps us to maintain high standards, keep ahead of industry changes and assists us with a high level of marketing. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved and our team’s contribution.”
Colin Torley, sales and marketing director for the VEKA UK group, said: “Network VEKA was the first organisation of its kind and glazing companies still aspire to the standards that have kept it number one for nearly two decades. Gemini is a fantastic ambassador for the network.”
Gemini’s consumer arm, AWC Home Improvements - also based in Oldham - is run by Paul’s brother Michael. AWC was a finalist in the Retailer of the Year category of the 2015 Oldham Business Awards.
