A SADDLEWORTH company which organises talks and seminars has enjoyed success with a programme of events — including one featuring the disgraced Jimmy Savile.

Greenfield-based Anotherway Now is behind the “brave choices” themed events in Manchester city centre. Based at Greenfield’s Tanner Business Centre, Anotherway Now has been set up by training and development company Anotherway Associates, whose founders and staff have links with Saddleworth, Oldham and London.

Emma Wray, Anotherway Now’s events and communications officer, said: “Our main business is as a training and development company. But we created Anotherway Now because we wanted to play a small part in getting new conversations going in Greater Manchester.”

The Jimmy Savile talk was presented by award-winning BBC investigative journalist Meirion Jones, who played a part in uncovering abuse scandals surrounding the celebrity. All talks are held at the International Anthony Burgess Foundation on Cambridge Street in the city centre. The Savile talk was a sell-out with an audience of 80.

Both Anotherway companies are led by directors Phil Brisk and Tina Kothari. Phil grew up in Rochdale and now lives in Greenfield, and Tina was born in India and grew up in the UK with a background in commerce and banking, counselling and training.

Business manager Ettie Brisk grew up in Greenfield and communications officer Emma was born in Oldham.

The next talk, on March 22, will be from Conciliation Resources, an organisation that works with people in conflicts.
