CONSTRUCTION and fit-out contractor Medlock FRB has secured £1.25m worth of contracts in northern England as it expands its presence in the leisure sector.

Oldham-based Medlock has started a job to extend and refurbish a restaurant and bar at the Langdale Hotel and Spa near Ambleside in the Lake District. And the firm is also refurbishing the Mash and Barrel bar and restaurant at Reighton Sands, a holiday park near Filey.

The project – Medlock’s second with Bourne Leisure, owner of Haven Holidays - is due for completion in time for the reopening of the Filey park next month. Medlock previously fitted-out the Mash and Barrel pub at Craig Tara holiday park in Ayrshire.

The current projects follow others at holiday home destinations Chantry Retreat in the Yorkshire Dales and Plas Coch on Anglesey, owned by Park Leisure.

Medlock managing director Andy Dunster, pictured, said: “We are delighted to be working with Bourne Leisure again and to be appointed by the owners of the Langdale Estate to carry out work at one of the finest hotels in the Lake District.

“These contracts build on our experience in the holiday market, where we have an excellent track record.”

Medlock FRB operates throughout the UK. Headquartered in Oldham, it it is owned by its management team, employs more than 60 staff and has a 20,000 sq ft joinery, metalwork and glass products manufacturing facility.
