JOANNE Jones and Aaron Marshall are among a number of new appointments at Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers.

Joanne qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and has also been a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) since 2012. STEP is a worldwide professional association for practitioners in trust and estate administration, promoting excellence, best practice and professional integrity.

Joanne is also an associate member of Solicitors for the Elderly and is working towards becoming a full accredited member.

She deals with a range of private client matters including drafting wills, administering estates when people have died, providing general planning and tax advice, preparing powers of attorney and court of protection applications and advising on the use of trusts.

She said: "Pearson's is progressive in its thinking. Its whole ethos is about client care and working together as a team for the greater benefit of the client. By being part of a large and growing firm, we are really able to work in our clients best interest, share best practice and provide a complete package of services."

Commenting on her arrival, Private Client Partner Daniel Prince said: "I am very happy to welcome Joanne to the team, someone as experienced as her is a valuable addition to our growing department, particularly in her specialised area of dealing with elderly clients which will be of long term benefit both to clients and the development of the firm."

Aaron Marshall has joined Pearson's commercial litigation team. His specialist areas are contractual disputes, insurance disputes, injunctions and professional negligence matters. Pearson said he has extensive experience in dealing with business rates cases, having acted on behalf of a number of local authorities.

Another recent recruit is paralegal Joshua McConnell, who will be dealing with all levels of debt recovery, ranging from small claims to more complex commercial matters.

Joshua has previous experience in a family construction business and was a volunteer with Manchester City FC's community projects.

Pearson offices are in Oldham town centre, Hollinwood Business Centre and Ashton.
