COMMERCIAL and industrial property agents Breakey & Nuttall has completed a number of contracts on some well-known buildings across the area.

The Royton-based agency, which has its office at Salmon Fields Business Village, has overseen deals for properties include a historic bank building and a former dance studio.

Outlining the deals, Breakey & Nuttall surveyor Glenn Drake-Owen said The Old Bank building on Manchester Road, Oldham, has been bought by a private investor.

He said: "The stunning Old Bank was home to an architectural practice for several years. It now has a new private investor owner, who has moved one of his businesses into the property. Called KPI Recruitment, the business offers a range of services and will occupy the property's impressive former banking hall."

Another deal involved the former Billingtons dance studio in Ascroft Street, Oldham.

Mr Drake-Owen said: "Following the previous owner's retirement, the building has been sold to local investors who intend to apply for planning permission to redevelop it. A number of schemes are being considered. The new owners are considering the best way to take advantage of the buildings size and town centre location, which is close to the new cinema development, which is due to open later this year."

Other recent deals brokered by Breakey & Nuttall include a ground-floor retail unit in Guide Bridge, Ashton, which has been let and will become a children's party venue; an industrial unit on Lansdowne Road; a new tenant for a first floor office on Salmon Fields, the sale of a former estate agents office in Ashton; and a site at Broadbent Road, Oldham, which could be converted to new houses.
