Police called to political clash

Date published: 26 April 2010

Police were called to a dispute over rival parties canvassing in the local elections in Glodwick on Saturday.

Officers were initially told a woman postal worker was attacked as she delivered postal votes in Allama Iqbal Road, at 9.40am.

But police say officers attended and found there had been a dispute between people canvassing in the area.

The matter was nothing to do with postal votes and no offences were committed.

Political violence on the streets of Oldham, worth making a fuss about? Obviously not if it's in Glodwick, move along, nothing to see here.
