Which muffin floats your vote?
Date published: 27 April 2010
ELECTION 2010
WHILE political party leaders have been on the campaign trail canvassing for votes, a Failsworth baker has found a much tastier way to gauge local opinion.
David Robinson, who owns Robinsons Bakery in Ashton Road East, is now selling Lemon Liberal, Blueberry Conservative and Raspberry Labour muffins.
And it seems the Liberal Democrats are winning the race with 35 per cent closely followed by the Tories on 32 per cent.
Labour are trailing with just 22 per cent while 11 per cent of David’s customers are undecided.

Could it be that the ingredients in (and flavourings of) the muffins are the reasons for the 'voting trend' and nothing to do with party allegiance? Anything to get publicity I suppose.
The one thing I miss after leaving the Oldham area are the oven bottom muffins, on the odd trip up north, i try to find the shops, the one at the top of the arcade, cant find, to try to buy some realy dark, crispy oven bottoms, but to no avail.

I always thought muffins were what you put Yorkshire Duck on with onions and gravy which would trickle down your arm as you ate it,probably after a night out 'up town'.
