Two recounts in Oldham east & Saddleworth. Woolas mobilising the Muslim vote has seemingly not delivered. Why tow recounts unless Phil is on the edge of the precipice. If he loses, you can guarantee a legal challenge.

This result is now so late there has to be serious questions about the validity of the whole voting process. Every trick in the book has been played in this one. in particular, the postal ballot has to be questioned.

2 recounts, seems a little shady to me does this. As for the postal ballot " can votes by post be trusted"? thousands of people not being allowed to vote, once again this country is a laughing stock "nowt changes".

Why did "the thousands" leave voting until the end of the day? The polls were open for 15 hours.

Congratulations to Phil Woolas on his re-election, albeit by a small margin. After the usual dirty tricks by the Lib Dems and a major effort by certain groups to oust Woolas, I for one am delighted by his victory.

They cant get rid of Phil can they? and Im delighted that Oldham and Saddleworth is Labour yet again.

Well Phil got his Muslim vote out and that't the way it goes. Pandering to the minorities is the hallmark of NuLabour and Woolas has done that well to survive.

Sad day for the people of Oldham east & Saddleworth who did not bother to oust this detestable little man. They only have themselves to blame.

I am astounded Phil Woolas has kept his seat. What does a politician have to do to lose his seat? Immigration minister, what a shambles, add to that the expenses scandal. The mind boggles.
