A PLANNING application has been submitted for a new car park in Oldham town centre to replace the one demolished two months ago.
The plan is to build a new car park, complete with payment machines, signs and barriers.
The proposal will go before the planning committee in the near future.
The Hobson Street car park was demolished via a controlled explosion on July 17, resulting in a loud bang heard across the borough.
The council-owned car park had been closed since December 2014, when an inspection found serious structural damage and the building was declared unsafe for use.
Additional surveys confirmed the car park, built in 1969, would need significant financial investment to repair it and a decision was taken to demolish the 750-space centre.
