ALL kitted out . . . Limehurst Lions
YOUNG rugby team the Limehurst Lions are hoping to be a roaring success after being gifted new kits.
The under-nines team had been forced to play in hand-me-downs from the senior side for the past two years until housing firm Keepmoat stepped in with the new strips and team sponsorship.
Wayne Hubbard, secretary of the Lions, said: "Getting sponsorship for junior teams is always more difficult, but it's incredible what a huge difference appearance can do in terms of confidence.
"The under-nines team now feel much more official and it's been a remarkable boost to have the backing of a national firm."
Keepmoat is working on a major £15 million regeneration project in the Oldham area, which involves 135 new homes.
The Limehurst Village scheme is part of a 10-year programme between Oldham Council, Regenda and Keepmoat, which aims to improve the environment, housing, recreation and employment opportunities in the neighbourhood.
Gareth Roberts, regional managing director for Keepmoat, said: "Our Limehurst Village project is about more than building homes. We are committed to improving communities and the sponsorship of the Limehurst Lions is one example of this."
