GOAL . . . Ryan Flynn
ATHLETIC 2, DONCASTER 1
RYAN Flynn and Billy Mckay were on the score sheet either side of half-time as Athletic made it into round two of the FA Cup.
Flynn, an early substitute for the injured Carl Winchester, controlled a Peter Clarke nod-down and rolled in the opener in added time at the end of the first period.
And scorer then turned provider in the 53rd minute, stealing possession and feeding Mckay who finished very neatly, across the Rovers goalkeeper low with his left foot.
Liam Mandeville pulled one back in the fourth of six added minutes at the end from the penalty spot after Cameron Burgess had hauled the scorer down.
Connor Ripley had to be alert to get down and turn away a John Marquis drive early in the second half, while on the break Matty Blair pulled an effort wide from inside the box.
Flynn fired narrowly wide towards the end when in on goal and had to hobble on at the end with all substitutes used up.
Doncaster pressed hard at the game's conclusion, but Robinson's side are in the hat for the next round.
