BURGER buffs are licking their lips in anticipation after Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) announced that it is set to open in Oldham's Old Town Hall on December 5.

GBK Oldham will be the chain's 80th restaurant to open and has created 25 jobs in the area.

As well as traditional GBK burgers and fan favourite meals, the restaurant will also be serving its new Christmas burger "Seasoned Meatings", with 6oz beef, Raclette cheese, baconnaise and chilli chocolate ketchup, and the "Bourbon Street", with jalapenos, mature Cheddar and bourbon-glazed mushrooms.

GBK marketing manager Laura Pettingale told the Chronicle: "We're thrilled to be opening our first Oldham location in such a beautiful grade-II listed building.

"There's been a lot of buzz around our arrival already and we couldn't be more excited to finally welcome the burger lovers of Oldham through our doors, just in time for Christmas."

Serving gourmet burgers since 2001, Gourmet Burger Kitchen kick started the premium burger trend in the UK, setting itself apart from the rest with a huge range of adventurous crafted burgers.

The restaurants use only 100 per cent prime beef, hand selected and traditionally reared on independent farms across the south-west counties, as well as the freshest ingredients and creates sauces from scratch in the restaurant each day.
