Royton Hall Primary School pupil Eve McGrath won a competition to name Oldham Council's latest gritter - Nicole Saltslinger - the latest addition to the council's nine-strong fleet which keep roads free of snow and ice.
OLDHAM'S newest gritter has been named Nicole Saltslinger after X-Factor judge and former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.
Royton Hall Primary School pupil Eve McGrath won a competition to name the vehicle, the latest addition to the council's nine-strong fleet which keep roads free of snow and ice.
Despite hundreds of entries from primary school pupils, the ten-year-old was the only person to come up with the fun title.
Other suggestions included puns such as Snowbi-Wan Kenobi, Usain Salt, Brad Grit, Veruca Salt and even Andy Gritchie after the former Oldham Athletic legend.
Nicole Saltslinger joins Freddie Salted, Grittersaurus, Goliath, Walter the Salter, Gritterbug, Gritney Spears, Gritanator and Thor who were all named by primary school pupils in a competition two years ago.
