REINDEER antlers, Santa hats and gaudy Christmas jumpers will be on display across Oldham as the borough joins together for "Dress Up Silly For Santa" day on December 16.

Businesses, schools and community groups will be swapping their usual office attire and uniforms for festive fashion to raise money for Action Oldham Fund.

And the Chronicle are eager to hear from anyone who will be taking part for the opportunity to show off their Silly Santa Style in a newspaper feature.

Clare Taylor, Action Oldham Fundraiser said: "People in businesses and schools around the area will be donning wacky hats, flashing beards and elf suits and donating £2 each to raise money for the Action Oldham Fund.

"Last year we raised over £1,600 and we are aiming to beat that figure this time around!

"If you want to see your friends and colleagues look silly and do something kind for your local community this Christmas, request your fundraising pack today."

Every business, school or group that registers is sent a fundraising pack including a badge to award for the Best Dressed Silly Santa in their organisation.

The overall winner for 2016 is chosen from social media shares.

This year there is also an additional category for animals, so the charity are keen to see any pets getting involved in the Silly Santa day.

All the money raised will help the charity award grants to amazing projects in the local area.

With the help of generous local people and businesses the Action Oldham Fund has awarded grants to more than 60 projects in the last three years.
