Members of the Manchester North branch of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association collected books, toys and chocolates to be donated to the children's ward at North Manchester General Hospital.

Group leader Laiq Ahmad Khan said: "Young members planned to share some joy to the children who were unable to enjoy this festive time.

"We told them all about our community and how we believe in peace.

"They appreciated the gifts and said they would invite us back."
