ONE of the most exciting names on the UK rap scene will be breaking the silence at Oldham Library.

Kojey Radical (pictured), nominated for two MOBOs last year including best newcomer, will be booking into the venue as part of the Get it Loud in Libraries tour on February 25.

Kojey is a poet, artist and creative director of Pushcrayons, a creative collective and media agency. His thought-provoking music is somewhere between spoken word and hip-hop, but refuses to be definitively labelled and always has a message without being overtly political.

Get it Loud in Libraries aims to bring up-and-coming artists - as well as the occasional established band - to towns not normally on the tour circuit.

Originally set up by librarian Stewart Parsons, in Lancaster Library, the programme has spread to libraries all over the north west over the last 12 years and has played host to acts such as Florence and the Machine, Adele, Jesse J and Wolf Alice.

Previous shows at Oldham Library have come from Teleman, Superfood, Misty Miller and All We Are.

Tickets For Kojey Radical are £7 and available via www.getitloudinlibraries.com/tickets.
