DRUG cultivators should fear a knock on the door at any time be it day or night, police have warned.
The warning comes after officers acted on information from Crimestoppers and at 5.30am on January 26 raided an address on Huxley Street, Clarksfield, where they found a cannabis farm.
The raid saw officers uncover nine cannabis plants which were being cultivated in a 41-year-old's loft. The man was held and cautioned.
PC Damieon Pickles, neighbourhood beat officer for Glodwick, St Mary's and Higginshaw, said: "We want to get the message across that if you know anything to contact us. On this occasion it was only nine plants. It could have been more.
"The raid occurred at 5.30am and we want to send the message that our visit won't just be in office hours. It could be at any time."
