JODI Eyre has already clinched the Manchester title and narrowly missed out on being crowned Miss England.

Now Jodi, from Shaw, is making a sweeping return to the pageant scene as she bids to become Miss Galaxy England on March 12.

The winner will jet off to Orlando to compete for the Miss Galaxy International title.

Jodi (24), who is currently Miss Galaxy North Manchester, will be clamouring for the crown alongside more than 60 other hopefuls at the Park Hall Hotel in Chorley.

She will be taking part in her first ever swimwear round as well as fashion and evening wear plus being interviewed by the judges.

She says it will be tough but she's quietly confident.

"I'm excited but nervous," said Jodi, who works as a personal banking advisor for Lloyds and as a nurse at Manchester Royal Infirmary at weekends.

"I'm hopeful but obviously there will be some strong competition. I have been working really hard juggling work life and pageant life in order to win the title. It would mean so much to me as pageants have really helped me grow as a person a develop skills and confidence to become the woman I am today."

As part of her bid for the starry Miss Galaxy title Jodi has also been fundraising and has organised a quiz night at the Queen Anne Inn, in Shaw, on Sunday, at 1pm.

"It would be great if the people of Shaw would come and support me on Sunday," said Jodi, who is raising money for The Christie.

"I have already met so many wonderful new friends it's a great opportunity and I have loved every minute of it. I would love to bring the crown back to Oldham."

Jodi became Miss Manchester in 2015 and came fourth in the Miss England competition the same year.
