Toiletries appeal for survivors

THE Blue Coat School is taking donations of toiletry items to give to hospitals and families after Monday's attack.
The school has also held special assemblies after learning that Lisa Lees and Alison Howe were victims of the Manchester blast. Lisa's daughter India and Alison's daughters Sasha and Darcie attend the school.

Headteacher Julie Hollis said: "At times like this the community of the school comes together to support each other. If there is anything you can contribute (soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, shower gel) please send it to school with your son/daughter."



MUSLIM-FAITH Greater Manchester charity Human Appeal's Muslims for Manchester fund has raised more than £14,000 for victims of the terror attack.


Othman Moqbel, Human Appeal CEO, said: "Manchester's Muslim community stands shoulder to shoulder with everyone in the city. All funds raised will go directly to supporting the victims and their families.

AN education Question Time planned for today by the National Union of Teachers has been cancelled as a mark of respect to the two Royton women who died in the terrorist attack.



OLDHAM College cancelled a celebration on Tuesday in wake of the terrorist attack at Manchester Arena.

The college was due to host its annual Vocational Qualification Awards.

A college spokesman said: "There will be a time and a place for us to celebrate the achievements, but now our thoughts will be focused on those affected."



OLDHAM Athletic AFC continued to fly their flags at half-mast yesterday.


They said: "The club would like to send their deepest condolences to the families and friends of Alison Howe and Lisa Lees and everyone else affected."

The club is also offering its car park for use by those visiting the Royal Oldham Hospital until June 2.



NORTHERN train services will be affected due to the ongoing closure of Manchester Victoria station today.

Leeds-Manchester Victoria - trains start and terminate at Rochdale. A replacement bus service runs between Rochdale and Manchester Piccadilly calling at all intermediate stations.

Huddersfield-Manchester Victoria - trains start and terminate at Stalybridge. Ticket acceptance has been arranged for Stagecoach buses from Stalybridge and Ashton-under-Lyne to Manchester Piccadilly.
