CHADDERTON Hall Park was restored and cleaned just hours after brightly coloured paint flour and eggs were left strewn across the park.

Oldham Council quickly cleaned up the mess which covered paths, grass, trees and benches in the Chadderton park this week, within hours of it being reported.

The images, which were posted on Facebook by the "I love Chadderton" site, sparked a debate on social media, with some believing school children celebrating their last day could have been responsible for the litter and flour.

Although the paint flour would have washed away, people criticised the litter and eggshells left in the park.

Jayne Fitton said: "Nothing up with having a bit of fun but leaving the place looking like a tip - they brought the rubbish, they can't even have the decency to use bins provided - it's called manners!"

David James Williams said: "Why is everybody moaning here? It's Once year? This is nothing! Innocent kids having fun!"

Karen Hollingsworth said: "Disgusting. Sick of these kids ruining this park."

Jenna Lang said: "Hope their parents see this-shameful!

Shueb Rahman said: "Don't worry guys, let the kids have their fun. There are worse scenarios in comparison to events."

Keena Cope said: "The littering is out of order but the coloured flour is just a bit of fun, it will wash away."
