DIAMOND couple Joyce and Jack Kenyon
NEVER go to bed on an argument if you want a long-lasting marriage.
That's the advice of Failsworth couple Joyce and Jack Kenyon and you would do well to take heed for they are celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary today.
Joyce and Jack Kenyon, both 84, of Woodford Road, will wait until September to have a proper party, when all their friends and family will be available to help them toast their 60 years together.
"You have to love one another completely," Jack said, explaining how they remain happily married. "Never go to bed falling out, always make up before you go to bed at night.
"There have been ups and downs but you have got to appreciate one another all the time."
The couple became friends at 15 through their local church and officially became an item when they were 18.
They married at a church in Moston on August 24, 1957.
Jack worked at a butcher's, Ferrantis, in Oldham and at a post office before he retired.
He was also the minister of New Life Church in Failsworth - now Dunamis Christian Church - for 13 years.
Joyce did several jobs including working in the railways a grocers and a newsagents.
They have one daughter, Joy (56), three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Joyce added: "It's about all looking after one another. He had a knee operation five years ago and I've been looking after him."
