OLDHAM police officers will trade chasing criminals for the barber's chair when they Brave the Shave for charity.
Three officers will have their heads shaved and another two will have their legs waxed outside Primark in the town centre next Friday at 2pm.
Brave the Shave is a nationwide campaign which sees people shave their hair off to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Participants can also donate their hair to Little Princess Trust, which provides real hair wigs to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland who have lost their hair through cancer treatment and other illnesses.
The officers facing the chop are Sgt Danny Atherton and PCSOs Gary Carter and Tony Riley. PCs Damieon Hartley Pickles and Lee Aldcroft will be having their legs waxed.
Sgt Atherton said: "This is a national campaign and it's chance to raise a bit of cash for a tremendous charity, just by having a bit of fun.
"We're doing it on the High Stree so we can get the whole community involved."
