New website is all about Lees Village
Date published: 31/10/2008
LEES Village will soon have its own website detailing the area and its amenities.
The site’s design and development is being funded by Lees Community Association (LCA).
Secretary Jenny Daubney said: “The costs of the website have been given by the LCA from the funds raised at the Lees Village party.
“A letter will be sent out soon requesting various organisations to contribute information for inclusion in the website.
“The LCA has set up a website working group and they will be deciding on what should be included. Saddleworth Round Table have committed funding to host the website for two years.”
Meanwhile, a Christmas lights competition is to be held between businesses in Lees. And a switch-on of the main Lees Village lights is scheduled for Friday, December 5 at 5pm. Oldham Band (Lees) Youth Band will add to the festivities and seasonal refreshments will be available.
The LCA annual general meeting takes place at the Swan upstairs room, High Street, on November 20 at 6.30pm.
Have Your Say

Its been done before. There was a website called Leesonline a few years ago that had plenty of local information plus a comprehensive list of businesses based in Lees. It fizzled out due to lack of support. A few local businesses were approached but all they wanted was free advertising. I look forward to seeing the new one, but I very much doubt it will have as much content as the original one.
