SOME of the firefighters in Mossley might be a little on the small side.
But the junior versions at the Fire Station Day Nursery are certainly keen.
Their nursery, based in the old Mossley fire station in Manchester Road, is kitted out to look just like a fire station.
Owner Carol Melia said: “We have done the building out on a fire station theme and it has caused a lot of interest, particularly among the children themselves.”
Firefighters from the new Mossley fire station, a mile up the hill, were top of the guest list to the nursery’s official opening, especially when they brought their own fire engine.
Watch commander Mark O’Neill said: “We are pleased that the old building has been put to good use. Our visit also gave us an opportunity to spread the fire safety message to those involved.”
