Travellers move on to fair site

TIME LIMIT . . . Travellers who set up camp at Manchester Cabins in Hollinwood were given two days to leave
TRAVELLERS have set up camp in Hollinwood, on the site of a future fun fair.
Caravans started to arrive at the Manchester Cabins site in Tweedale Way on Thursday. The land will be used by a visiting funfair — Blackpool Comes to Oldham — due to open on February 13.
Organisers de-Koning Leisure are planning to bring donkey rides, clowns and stilt walkers as well as roller coasters, a Ferris wheel and dodgems.
Frank Rothwell, owner of Manchester Cabins, said: “The police came on Thursday and gave the travellers two days’ notice to leave but they ignored this so we are in the process of obtaining a court order to remove them from the site. They should be gone by the end of the week.”

Yes. They're the same lot, but I doubt if the council have been and given them a bill for clearing up the B&Q site.
It would be ironic if the fat greyhound that bit Mr Comyn Platt's leg at Mumps attacked one of the stilt walkers once the fair arrives ouch!! The council will not be interested its not their land, and you cant believe they took no notice of the Police.
I think these are the same ones that moved onto Bowlee Middleton, What i would like to know is where are they now as i think they might have picked my trailer up along the way any help much appreciated.
At the fair there will be donkeys, clowns and dodgems, personaly I dont think councilors that earn the big pay packets should be allowed to jobs on the side.
Have Your Say
