Date published: 22 January 2009

THE search is on for an outstanding man or woman to help shape the future of Oldham’s health services.

A national advert has gone out for a non-executive director to join the board of NHS Oldham with a salary of £7,765 a year.

The aim is to build teams that have a breadth of experience, which might include public, private or voluntary sector, local government, academic or community roles.

NHS Oldham chairman Riaz Ahmad said: “This is an exceptional opportunity for people to put their talents to use by making a positive difference to the lives of people in Oldham.

“This is a chance to influence and shape the NHS in Oldham for the 21st century.”

The post is being advertised nationally by the Appointments Commission, which will recruit the non-executive directors.

Candidates will need to demonstrate a range of competencies required to contribute effectively at board level.

For an informal discussion contact Ann Kirk on 0161-622 6577 by the closing date for applications — Monday, February 2.

This will play no part in the selection process. Interviews will be held on Monday, March 2.

Comments

Perhaps someone needs to check the salary quoted.
It cannot be right - a non-executive director on less than minimum wage? Charlie Parker is on nearly 20 time that!!!

Another Quango that gives taxpayers money for 8 hours work in a year, good if you can get on them, its worrying that no ones being doing that job before. All thats wrong in this country too many self serving bodies and no action
