£2.8m football plans put under scrutiny

FITTON Hill residents have taken the opportunity to put forward their views on a £2.8 million Sportszone development planned for the area.
Organised by New Deal for Communities, the event gave people the chance to find out more about the plans for disused football pitches behind the Centre of Professional Development in Rosary Road.
The aim is to bring them back into use for football tournaments, basketball, rugby and other sporting activities, and include all-weather floodlit pitches.
New Deal for Communities has committed £1.8 million to the scheme, and is bidding for further funding from the Football Foundation.
