OLDHAM Post Office has been refurbished to improve its service to customers.
The revamped branch, in Lord Street, now has a lighter, brighter, more modern interior.
There is a new touchscreen queuing system to speed up service and there are dedicated areas for people wishing to find out more about the Post Office’s range of financial services, such as credit cards, instant access savings account and home insurance products.
Branch manager Anthony Haw said: “Whether customers are visiting our branch to withdraw cash, pay their bills or find out more about our financial or travel services, I’m sure they will be delighted by the improved environment.
“In addition to the changes to the branch itself, we also have financial services specialists to help people find out more about our products in the privacy of a new financial services area.”

Losing how much money a year? closing how many local sub post offices? They can still afford thousands of pounds on an unecessary upgrade to this office. How many sub post offices could have been kept open if the money had been used for that?
Privatisation is very much overdue for this woefully missmanaged financial black hole
Clearly the cameraman didn't go around the delivery entrance at the side where the tiles are falling off and the flashing is rotted. How long until it falls down? Go check it yourself.
It might look good but i posted a birthday card to a relative in Buxton on the 4th first class hoping it would arrive for 7th ! no chance.!!! He got it on the 9th what kind of a service is that.I took it to Lord street especially thinking that would be the best place to post it from.
What load of tosh! this is a revamp! it's more intimidating now than having to queue the old fashioned way.Take a ticket sit down if you can find a seat and what happens if the electronics go belly up? yea that's right you queue up just like before. No consideration has been put to the blind or hard of hearing but perhaps the girl who stands all day at the touch screen can assist or maybe not.Royal mail yet again try's to fix what isn't broke.

its all well and good doing a revamp! i hope all the counters will be open from now on! whenever i go in the queue is almost out of the door and only two or three counters are staffed! especially as alot of local branches were shut down and we where assured that capacity would be increased at oldham
