Eight years jail and deportation for £400k drugs haul

AN Oldham man has been jailed after more than £400,000 worth of heroin was seized during a police raid in Oldham.
Ali Imran (30), of Letham Street, Hathershaw, was convicted of possession of heroin with intent to supply following a trial on Friday.
He was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison, and will be deported once he has served his sentence.
Police went to his home in February to execute a warrant and officers discovered a hydraulic press, blender jugs, weighing scales, mixing agents and drugs packaging and a substantial amount of heroin later judged to have a street value of more than £400,000.
DC Pete Nuttall, from the Neighbourhood Support Unit, in Oldham, said: “This was a very serious case, which involved the recovery of a large amount of heroin.
“This house was used to manufacture and store drugs which were going to be distributed on to the streets of Oldham and Greater Manchester.
“This sentence sends out a powerful message that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated and anyone who plays a part in the distribution of class A drugs, regardless of whether you are simply looking after the drugs or directly involved in selling them, will be dealt with severely.”

Hang on why is the tax paying to give this man a 8yr holiday in our prison system, why not send him back and pay for him to serve is time in is own country. Just think of the money it would save and lets face it there would be no comfort there
I bet he and his mates are praying Labour will be in power when he gets out, there'll be no chance of deportation with that incompetant bunch in charge. As we've seen most deportation orders are never carried out on release even on murderers

Eight years at how much per week? Another prison space that could be freed up is taken.
So £400,000 worth seized. Probably not his first attempt? Slim risk of getting caught and if you do you get 8 years which really means 4? Thats £100k per year in prison (just this stash). Seems a good risk to me. I wonder why Oldham is full of new Subaru sports cars etc with young lads driving them.
It cost how much for his trial? KICK HIM OUT NOW AND CUT THE LOSSES!!!
powerfull message???? in the country that he comes from, if you got caught with drugs you would be shot!! people sell it cuz other people are daft enough to buy it and this money is what goes to terrorism!! helllooooo!

what a top judge,its about time we came down hard on this type of scum,a prison sentence,then he gets kicked out of the country,best news i heard for a long time,well done judge,you should deal with all the drug dealers,and my country would be better for it.
