Chris’s top EU post on climate change

Oldham MEP Chris Davies has been appointed team leader and spokesman for the European Liberal group on the environment committee in the European Parliament.
Davies will now lead the seven-strong Liberal group on the committee over the next five years giving Oldham a seat at the top levels of European decision making on climate change, protecting our natural environment and ensuring that the EU creates new jobs and takes the green road out of the recession.
Mr Davies said: “Threats to our environment don’t stop at national borders and the EU is a powerful force for improving the quality of our environment across the North-West, across the UK and across the continent.
“I am humbled by the support of my colleagues across Europe to take forward this exciting work."
In recent months Mr Davies has been recognised by the European Voice newspaper and the Eurelectric pan-European trade organisation as one of the most hardworking champions of the environment in the European Parliament.

Thats a joke when you look at the councils attempt (joke) to allow traffic to move in the town
The only jobs the EU creates are more 'jobs for the boys' and more space at the bottomless trough of our money. Climate change with its cynical taxes, is the biggest global con in anybody's life time. It's just another means of separating honest decent people from their money. But that's the EU - independent thought is not welcome. How has our environment - the area in which we live - been improved by the EU? Time to leave it behind..

We've nothing else to worry us then? Now we'll have this dimmest of the Euro dimwits mithering us at every verse end, creating yet more hot air & adding to 'global warming'.
As for thinking this will give Oldham a seat at the top levels of European decision making. Don't make me laugh! The decisions have all been made, way above his head.
Another nice little earner for this chinless wonder! It certainly pays to be a 'yes-man' .....

oh great! one of the most useless mp's in recent years from one of the worst eco political parties has been given the job in charge of one of the biggest tax excuses in recent years!
