Family tribute to ‘true gentleman’

THE devastated family of a father-of-five who died in a road smash in Oldham have paid tribute to him.
Ian Jones (31), from Middleton, died on Tuesday following a collision in the early hours of the previous morning.
The black Porsche Cayenne he was driving overturned after hitting a roundabout at the junction of Oldham Way and Featherstall Road North.
He was described as a true gentleman with a heart of gold. In a statement, Mr Jones’s family said: “Ian was a loving dad to his five children Colm (12), Josh (10), Ellis (6) Emerson, (4), and Poppy (2).
“He leaves behind fiancé Bernadette, mum Lorraine, sister Debbie and brother Andrew and we are missing him already.
“Ian was a dog lover and breeder. He ran his own company. His hobbies were weightlifting, eating out and motorcycling.”
A second man in the car, aged 32, suffered cuts to his head.
Police are appealing for information about the collision and any witnesses are asked to call traffic police on 0161-856 8473.

ian was one of a kind and will be sadly missed by a lot of people, he was a very close friend of the family and still can not believe he has gone, very funny guy and kind hearted would do anything for anyone r.i.p ian

Have to agree with fightback, I saw the comments and I just wonder how badly that person now feels about their comments. Maybe they shouldn't jump to conclusions before finding out the facts.

There was one digusting and bigoted remark made when the original story was published, its now been removed, should have been left on for all to see.
Judging by the heartfelt comments left by friends, the man was a hardworking family man.
An apolgy now needs to be written by that person.
