RUDOLPH must have had a few too many sherries and lost his way — for he’s been spotted in Shaw.
Watersheddings dog groomer Sarah Ogden got the shock of her life when she came face to face with a giant reindeer on the run in Buckstones Road.
Sarah (40) said: “I had just put my Christmas carols CD on and it was pitch black.
“I was singing along when suddenly I saw this giant creature jump over the fence at the side of the road.
“It stopped in front of my car and stared at me before running off and jumping the fence on the other side.
“It’s a good job I saw it and was able to stop because it would have caused a lot of damage to my car.
“I would like to warn other motorists to be aware around Buckstones Road.
“The reindeer must have escaped from some kind of Christmas attraction because I can’t imagine there are wild reindeer in Oldham.
“It gave me a big fright but I am made up to have seen a real reindeer at Christmas.”
Comments
What was 'giant' about it? It probably was not a reindeer but one of the local deer that lived here happily before OMBC & the local thugs moved in.
There's always a wet blanket around to spoil someone's enjoyment, isn't there. Never mind Sarah relish the memory and a merry christmas to you.

There are wild deer on the moor and have been for donkeys years. One was killed on buckstones road recently. They used to shelter in the plantations on crompton moor until the council began ripping the trees up and the mountainbikers turned the woods into illegal trails.
