Thriller in the library
Date published: 18 February 2010
Oldham Library will be a crime hotspot when hard-hitting writer Mandasue Heller offers an insight into her life.
Her nine thrillers have seen her touted as Manchester’s answer to Martina Cole and earned critical praise and growing audiences.
And Oldham readers can learn more about her latest novel “Two-Faced” on February 25.
It is the story of twin sisters Mia and Michelle who become unwittingly involved with a deranged gangster and the criminal underworld.
Mandasue Heller was born in Cheshire and moved to Manchester in 1982. She spent 10 years living in the notorious Hulme Crescents that have since become the background to her books.
This author event was originally part of last year’s Oldham Literature Festival.
Tickets cost £2, with tickets from the original date still valid. To book for the 6pm event call Oldham Library on 0161-770 8000 or email oldham.library@oldham.gov.uk

Nothing personal to this author, but this is the sort of stuff that could and should be cut when money is tight. 'Twill also save on the refreshments and hospitality which is also unnecessary. Libraries seem more about family entertainment these days. Parents could and should entertain their own children, not offload them at every opportunity.
