Victim offers a reward

Reporter: Richard Hooton
Date online: 11 March 2010

THE victim of a vicious assault has offered a reward if two witnesses come forward with evidence.

As revealed by the Evening Chronicle yesterday, Zafar Ali Khan (26) suffered a broken arm and both he and father-in-law Sikander Khan (50) were left badly bruised after being attacked by up to six white youths in a racist attack in Hollins Road.

Two girls walking by stopped the attack, which took place close to the Limeline Private Hire firm at 9pm on February 28, and Sikander has appealed for them to come forward.

His daughter said: “He wants to give them £50 each if they come forward to be a witness as they might know who these people are.”

Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to call them on 0161-872 5050.

This would not stand in court if it ever made it there, PAYING WITNESSES TO COME FORWARD, mmm

It shouldn't take financial inducements to get people to "do the right thing". I hope their conscience pricks them into action.

This seems kind of similar to the attack on some white youths by six or more asians, surely as it was said of the previous spate of assaults this cannot be racially motivated or can it?
The fact that it has happened to involve a older person and youth being attacked may or may not mean it was racial or it could have just been a random event carried out by some socially challenged youths, who mearly had time on their hands, the same of course but is unlikely could be said of the asian youths.
