THE family of a man who died in an Oldham street attack said they will never get over his death.
Andrew Molloy (25) died on Monday after being attacked in a street brawl outside the Old Mess House pub in Yorkshire Street.
He was found by officers with serious face and head injuries and was taken to Hope Hospital, where he later died.
In a tribute by Andrew’s family, they said his death had left them devastated but they had taken some comfort from the hundreds of tributes left to him.
They said: “Andrew was and always will be a very much loved son, brother and uncle.
His death has devastated us all and left a huge gaping hole in all our hearts.
“We are each trying to find our own way of coping with what has happened but are finding it extremely hard to imagine the rest of our lives without him.
“We have been surprised at the hundreds of tributes paid to Andrew on Facebook and it has given us some comfort to know that so many people have taken time out to do this and to also send cards of condolence. We will never get over Andrew’s death because he was such an important part of our lives.
“It will just be a case of having to come to terms with it and eventually trying to move on.”
A wake has been arranged to celebrate Andrew’s life in Oldham this weekend.
Louis Patrick Veitch (22), of Yorkshire Street, Oldham, has been charged with manslaughter as well as two further assaults.
He appeared before Oldham Magistrates yesterday and was remanded in custody to await trial at crown court.

RIP ANDY YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR HEARTS AND WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN GOOD NIGHT GOD BLESS XXXX
Oldham town centre is now an absolute disgrace, the area needs drastic measures to resolve the problems. Even with the hundreds of police officers around throughout the nights at weekend the trouble still continues, i dont think anything short of shutting it all down will stop the trouble now and even then it will just move to a different area. It needs a serious look at what is happening and the ways if any that this monsterous behaviour could be stopped
oldham is a place where more and more people don't want to live. the mindless killings of young people are a disgrace, the law is so pre occupied with the rights of the one who kills or commits crimes they forget the victims and their loved ones left behind. it's about time when they are punished it dose not meen prison where they get all the luxeries that they dont have at home. it's more like a holiday camp not punishment for them. the victims family and loved ones left behind suffer not them.
Have Your Say

My heart goes out to his family at this very sad time, R.I.P Andy x
