We were left to rot like kitty litter...

RSPCA stretched to the limit
A TRIO of tiny kittens were dumped in a cardboard box and left outside the RSPCA’s Rhodes Bank Centre.
The siblings — Sugar, Spencer and Sian — are only four-weeks-old and will need round-the-clock care from staff who will attempt to replicate the actions of their mother.
Dedicated RSPCA employees have been sleeping at the centre so they can feed the kittens every two hours and clean them — jobs their mum would have done for the first eight weeks of their lives.
The kittens will be available for adoption in a month’s time. Anyone interested in taking them should call in.
The centre is currently stretched to the limit and has countless kittens which desperately need rehoming. Branch manager Mandy Tierney said: “We can’t stress too highly the importance of getting cats neutered.
“It prevents unwanted litters of kittens and will help to reduce the pressure on the RSPCA which is feeling the effects of the credit crunch.”
The centre offers a discount on neutering for pet owners who are on benefits or low incomes. Call 0161-624 4725 to find out more.
l The charity is hosting a three-course meal with entertainment from George Michael tribute act Mark Jay at Smokies Park Hotel on Friday. Tickets are priced £25. Call into the centre for more information.

Nice idea Flake but the people that dump animals like this probably don't go near a vets. Litters are either passed on to others or dumped and so the problem continues.
Its the owners that need neutering!
Thats true jwithers, but the people with the litters are almost always the victims of someone elses un neutered Tom cat, which knowing some male owners, somehow believe it will affect their own virity if they have their cat 'done'.
Seeing as cats usually have a little of 6 they may have rehomed or kept some, but having experienced a stray with kittens, no one will help you, there is currently no alternative but to leave them at the door if you don't wish to adopt them.
Have Your Say

Too many irresponsible pet owner (most are unfortunately) too many un nuetered Tom cats whose owners don't have to deal with the problems they create, not only the kittens, but the dreadful smell when they spray everywhere.
Perhaps the time has come to Neuter every pet as it comes into the vets whether the owner wants it or not. The only exceptions should be registered breeders.
