Date published: 06 August 2010
CHADDERTON’S youth have a smart new building to call their own.
Their new-look youth centre, which has been transformed by a £45,000 refurbishment scheme, was given the seal of approval when it was officially opened.
Local residents of all ages were invited into the youth centre to take a look at what it has to offer. The cash helped turn the Lancaster Street building into a bright, friendly and exciting modern venue where young people can join in a range of activities.
It now has a new a fully-equipped kitchen and care area, a dance studio, DJ booth, computer suite and comfortable chairs for relaxing.
The revamp was funded by money from the Youth Opportunity Fund, the Youth Capital Fund and Extended Services.
Councillor Jack Hulme said: “The newly-refurbished youth centre is a credit to the area and I hope as many young people as possible take advantage of the great facilities that are now on their doorstep.”

But let's not forget that Jack Hulme voted to close the one serving Chadderton North, the ward he represents. How many kids from the Bare Trees and Park Estates are going to go down to Lancaster St Jack? Chadderton North with Tory Councillors = the Forgotten Ward
