Woman’s knife-point terror

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was threatened with a knife as robbers stole her car from a petrol forecourt.
The 22-year-old parked her Vauxhall Corsa at the Texaco filling station in Oldham Road, Failsworth.
She approached the kiosk on foot leaving the keys in the ignition with the engine running. Two hooded men, dressed in dark clothing, then approached the vehicle.
As the woman ran back to her car, one of the robbers threatened her with a knife before jumping in and driving towards Oldham.
The car was found abandoned in New Moston the following day.
The terrifying ordeal unfolded at midnight on July 26.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the robbery or who knows who the offenders are to come forward.
Det Con Matthew Scarratt, of Oldham CID, said: “This woman has been left feeling very shaken by what happened.
“I’m appealing for anyone who might remember seeing people acting suspiciously before the attack, or them speeding off.
“If you do, you must contact us.”

Well there goes any insurance claim. Obviously these people need to be caught, but for goodness sake stop making things easy for them.
Can't believe she was that stupid.Engine running too ! Yep, no insurance claim either. Still, I do hope she is OK and they thieves are on CCTV.
Why is this story, already a month old when reported, deemed newsworthy at all? Surely any witnesses would have come forward by now? The encounter with two low-lifes must have been frightening but some portion of accountability must rest with the driver for being so blase about personal security and safety.
If she filled the car up with the engine running the she deserves what she got for her laziness. It's forbidden along with smoking & using mobile phones, there's also a danger on some cars that the engine management will fail (according to the net).
Yes I suppose she was careless in leaving her engine running with the keys in but we used to leave our front doors unlocked years ago, but that of course was before we started breeding Hyena's.
