Schools celebrate a clean bill of health
Date published: 11 April 2011
ATTEMPTS to get Oldham’s youngsters living healthier lives have proved 100 per cent successful as the borough’s final school received “healthy school” status.
Elated staff and pupils at Medlock Valley Community School proudly displayed their plaque to mark the occasion.
The school is the last of 107 schools in the borough to scoop the title since the inception of the National Healthy Schools programme in 1999.
The project aimed to increase health and well-being awareness in such areas as healthy eating, sex education and drug abuse.
