REMEMBER the days of buying, swapping or pinching Panini stickers in a bid to finish your football album?
Chadderton Park FC have brought the popular pastime back to life with their own version .
Parkini stickers feature their own players, managers and coaches.
Teams taking part include the Under-6s academy, and the Eagles, Lions, Griffins, Dragons and Phoenix teams — as well as the girls’ sides.
And the youngsters are already excited about the project, which is expected to be a roaring success.
Parkini was dreamed up by Under-11s Eagles coach, Craig Simpson, who spent six months creating more than 10,000 stickers. He said: “I remember collecting stickers from my youth and thought it would be great to have personal ones. It’s all the excitement of buying the stickers and opening the envelopes. My son thinks they are brilliant but he can get his own pocket money out for them!”
Paul Langden, who helped with the project, has even created caricatures of the team mascots which will also appear in sticker packs.
Mr Simpson added: “It’s not a money-making project. I just thought it would be a social thing. It’s fun and affordable and really for about £15 you could have the whole collection.”
The parents of the children involved have given consent and stickers — five in a pack — will only be sold via team coaches for £2 a pack. The club is also selling backboards and frames to mount them.
