Machete terror at pub

Date published: 14 December 2012

FOUR masked men armed with what was believed to be a machete robbed a pub in Failsworth while customers were still in the bar.

The terrifying incident happened at about 10.15pm on Wednesday at the Woodhouse Gardens Inn, Medlock Road.

The gang threatened staff and customers and made them kneel on the floor before grabbing money from the till and running off.

Two wore light grey tracksuits while the others were dressed in black clothing.

Det-Con Ian Lloyd, from Oldham CID, said: “Although no one was injured but it must have been a terrifying experience.”

Anyone with any information that could help police can call CID on 0161-856 8951, or anonymously on 0800 555111.

As if pubs weren't struggling as it is then this happens, that industry is doomed.

There's something dreadfully wrong with the way society is going if four men brandishing weapons and using threats rob pub customers. they're hardly likely to have stolen more than a few pounds even with money from the till. Time was when no self respecting robber would even have considered such a pathetic act but fings aint wot they used to be!
