Car thieves’ cheek
Date published: 18 December 2012
Thieves who stole an expensive Land Rover in Saddleworth left something behind – the car’s security sytem.
The robbers bypassed the security features to snatch the Land Rover Defender.
Since July last year, seven Defender have been targeted in Saddleworth, and four actually stolen. It is believed the vehicles are sold abroad.
It is believed the thieves fit their own new security devices with a new set of keys, rendering the original worthless — so in this case they left it behind.
