Suspect suffered broken arm
A POLICE sergeant has been charged with common assault after being accused of dragging a handcuffed suspect along the floor at Chadderton custody suite.
The 32–year–old man had been arrested for allegedly assaulting a policeman at a takeaway in Yorkshire Street, Oldham in the early hours last July 15. It later transpired he had suffered a broken arm during his arrest.
Sergeant Richard Miller, from Greater Manchester Police, is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on February 8. Prosecutors have decided not to charge other officers.
