OLDHAM CLASSIC: one of First’s modern fleet decked out in Oldham Corporation colours
Oldham bus users can take a bus trip down memory lane: local operator First has painted eight of its distinctive lilac and white vehicles in the colours of former bus companies.
The buses are already in service across the county. In Oldham the classic livery is the red and cream of the former Oldham Corporation.
The aim is to give the older generation of customers a nostalgia trip while showing younger customers the heritage of bus travel.
On Sunday, October 20, all eight buses will be brought together for a heritage event at the Queens Road GM Transport Museum in Cheetham Hill, which is open to the public.
