A MAN had his ear bitten off when two men burst into his mother’s house in Failsworth.

The 31 year old was chased through the hall and attacked in the back yard of the house in Piercy Street.

He was punched, kicked and stamped on.

One of the men bit off his ear and the pair are believed to have left in a waiting silver-coloured car. The incident happened at about 10.30pm on Wednesday, last week and is believed to be drugs related.

Det Sgt John Coleman said: “While we believe this is an isolated incident and there is no reason for anyone in the area to be alarmed, this was a savage attack that has left a man permanently disfigured. I would urge any witnesses to come forward.”

The attackers were white and in their late 20s to early 30s. One was 6ft tall, stocky and wearing a turquoise hooded top. The other was slim and wore a hoodie.
