Drama tackles horrors of child grooming

A Mossley-based theatre company is leading a campaign against child sexual exploitation and street grooming in a powerful new touring production.
Tameside-based GW Theatre Company’s play “Somebody’s Sister, Somebody’s Daughter”, will visit 70 secondary schools across the country between now and the spring.
The production was commissioned by Oldham Council and Oldham Local Safeguarding Children Board, and developed in collaboration with Rochdale and Oxfordshire Councils, the Oxford Foundation and Barnardo’s.
The show will be seen by more than 9,000 14 and 15-year olds across Greater Manchester and Oxfordshire.
Without being sexually graphic, the show dramatises the dangers and complex issues involved in making young people aware of the dangers of sexual predators.
