Over the Blue Moon . . . Manchester City fan Elliot Wright
AN 11-year-old Moorside boy will walk out alongside his heroes at Wembley stadium on Sunday as a Manchester City mascot for the Capital One Cup Final.
Hodge Clough Primary School pupil Elliot Wright won a competition to claim the prize of walking on to the pitch in front of an estimated 80,000 people as his team takes on Sunderland.
The huge City fan was delighted with the honour. His grandmother Susan Davies (54), said: “Though he is playing it very cool, I can tell how excited he really is.”
Elliot saw City lift the FA Cup in 2011 and has turned out as a mascot for them a number of times.
