Joint effort to find adoptive families

OLDHAM Council has joined 21 other local councils across the region to encourage people to adopt during the first North-West Adoption Week.
A TV, radio and online advertising campaign aims to raise awareness of adoption and help people overcome common misconceptions.
The campaign, which runs this week, shows it is possible to adopt whether married or single, if over 50, already have children, are gay, are in full-time employment, of any religion or not a homeowner.
Adopt North West has been created to help find families for the 623 children currently awaiting adoption in the region, including 50 from Oldham.
