OLDHAM Labour group started its campaign for the May local elections with a manifesto launch at Gallery Oldham.
Councillor Jim McMahon was joined by Oldham MPs Michael Meacher, Debbie Abrahams and David Heyes.
The new manifesto promises an extension of the group’s borough-wide regeneration plans, which already include the old town hall and campaigns to save on bus fares and power bills. Labour will add fair credit, employment and insurance campaigns to the list for a next term in office.
Councillor McMahon said: “We’ve listened to people’s concerns and priorities and continue to put them at the heart of everything we do. We know that this borough and its people deserve better, and this manifesto reflects that.”
